No.2 Red Label - Low Grade - for many applications.
Limited sapwood and flat grain, limited knots and defects above clear portion.
Western Red Cedar shingles can be used for cladding and as roofing material (ideal for out buildings, etc). These shingles are lightweight, aesthetically pleasing and practical. After weathering they will adopt a pleasant silvery grey shade. Cedar is naturally insect & rot resistant requiring no further treatment and sourced from sustainable forests in Western Canada.
• Each bundle will cover approx 2.32m2 (above 19 degree pitch)
• Minimum Pitch of 14 Degrees (90mm exposure)
• Suitable fixings are 30mm / 32mm annular ring nails in silicon bronze or stainless steel.
(As a rule of thumb 1kg of silicon bronze nails will be required for every 6 bundles of shingles)
• Each shingle should be fixed with two nails.
