What is insulated plasterboard?

Insulated plasterboard, also known as insulated drywall or insulated wallboard, is a specialised product because of its unique benefits. These include better energy efficiency, thermal performance, and sound insulation.

Insulated plasterboard simplifies the construction process compared to using separate insulation and plasterboard materials.

Plus, insulated plasterboard also provides an efficient way to add insulation to walls without significantly increasing the wall thickness. It’s ideal if you have limited space, as it minimises the impact on room dimensions while still improving thermal performance.

The product typically consists of plasterboard, covered with a layer of insulation attached to it. As such, there’s no need to spend time and extra costs on two separate products when installing them in the property.

What can insulated plasterboard be used for?
