Description

With a distinctive gold colour that does not mask potential defects seen in standard battens this is a premier 25mm x 50mm timber batten to be used in various internal and external construction projects.

The battens are produced from the highest grade, slow-grown spruce (Picea abies) or pine (Pinus sylvestris), both covered under the WPPA species code. All materials are sourced from FSC or PEFC certified or controlled resources. Dried to maintain the correct moisture content, not exceeding 22% at the time of fixing, they are also individually piece marked for full identity.

The raw material is pre-graded before processing to ensure a superior finished product, with visual grading assessing dimensions, knots, wane, fissures, splits, slope of grain, rate of growth, decay, insect attack, and resin pockets. This process is third-party assessed and audited by CATG to ensure compliance with BS 5534:2014 + A2:2018.
