Description

Available in a selection of height options, this Wallbarn Universal Adjustable Paving and Decking Support from Wallbarn is designed to form flat surfaces for paved or decked structures. While especially suited to use alongside porcelain tiles on podiums and flat roofs, these pedestals provide adjustments that are precise to the millimetre with the telescopic stem across various flat surfaces.

The free-standing system requires no fixings, in turn sparing below membranes from hindrance and suiting warm roofs and inverted waterproofing systems. The pedestals create a gap between the paving or decking and the sub-deck for the purpose of ventilation, while effectively hiding unpleasant pipes and cables.

Laying Decking

  • Adjusting the pedestal height instead of cutting furring's quickens installation and accommodates falls in the roof deck. Joist bearers easily slot between joist holders when situated a maximum of 600mm apart. A joist framework is formed for a sturdy, stable, weight-bearing surface to take the upper surfacing and the top decking can then be fixed onto the joists with wood screws or discrete fixings. You can make height adjustments when the timber joist framework is in place to reduce both time and labour. Raising the decking off the sub-deck lets water drain beneath the decking to: avoid standing water on the surface, prolong timber lifespan, stop ponding, and limit resulting slip hazards. Joists are not standing directly on the waterproofing membrane, or insulation, to avoid damage.

How many would I need to support a frame for decking. I plan to make wooden frame from 50mm x 100mm timber. It will be 6m x 4m with timbers at 1m intervals. Will a support every 1m be sufficient?
