Torch-On Roofing Felt
Torch-on roofing felt, also known as torch-down roofing, is a type of roofing material that is made from a composite of asphalt and modified bitumen. The material is applied to the roof in large rolls and is then heated with a propane torch to melt the asphalt and activate the adhesive backing. This creates a watertight seal that is durable and long-lasting. Torch-on roofing felt is commonly used for flat or low-slope roofs on both residential and commercial buildings. It is known for its resistance to weathering, UV rays, and fire. However, the installation process requires specialized equipment and expertise, making it more expensive than some other roofing options.
