VELUX GGL Roof Windows

VELUX window codes can seem hard to decipher, but here at Roofing Superstore, we’re here to make it easy for you.

Every VELUX roof window manufactured after 1968 has a code in the right-hand corner, indicating the type of window it is, and further information such as the size, material etc. Here’s the breakdown of VELUX GGL Windows and what the letters mean:

The first ‘G’ simply means that the product is a window.

The second ‘G’ tells us that the function of the window is centre-pivot, so ideal if the layout of your space means you can fit your new roof window lower down, i.e. so you can open and close it easily whilst seated.

Lastly, the ‘L’ means that the window is made from high-quality pine.

So, the first letter indicates product type, the second letter indicates function, and the third tells us the material.
